Labor federation rallies for man deported to El Salvador

Around 100 people rallied to call for the release of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the Maryland man who was wrongly deported and sent to an El Salvador prison by the Trump administration.

The Los Angeles County Federation of Labor, an umbrella organization of around 300 unions, organized the rally. People in yellow vests stood in front of the federal building on North Los Angeles Street, holding signs that read “Bring our union siblings home.”

Armenian History Month begins at USC

USC began its second year of Armenian History Month celebrations at Hahn Plaza on Tuesday. The kick-off event featured several keynote speakers, including USC President Carol Folt, former L.A. DPS’s lack of alerts on recent incidents around campus incites concerns from students

An incident involving DPS and the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) over a student in possession of a fake firearm in USC Village housing last month, as well as reports of an unhoused man harassing students on Greek Row, warranted no broadcasted alerts from DPS.
